Purchasing a new vehicle is exciting, but also a huge investment. It is very important that you are able to drive away in a vehicle that is durable and reliable. Occasionally people do purchase vehicles that don’t hold up to that standard. That is why it is very important to only purchase a vehicle that comes with an outstanding warranty. This is the manufacturers guarantee to you that what you are purchasing from them is going to be a quality product.

Most new vehicle warranties cover the entire vehicle, bumper to bumper for a specific period of time or a specific amount of miles. Once one or the other has been reached the warranty is void. Many dealers will try to sell you an extended auto warranty that will cover you for more miles or a longer period of time. In many instances it is a good investment to take them up on an extended warranty. You need to look at the specifics of the terms though because many extended warranty offers don’t cover as much as the original warranty on the vehicle.

Before you purchase a new vehicle, you will likely compare the features, prices, and safety rating of various makes and models. To get the most for your investment make sure you also look at the warranty information offered. By law, this information has to be presented to potential consumers who ask for it free of charge without any obligation of committing to a purchase.

One thing you need to fully understand about auto warranties is that they don’t give you a free ride to be excessively rough on your new vehicle. The terms of your warranty will explain this to you in different terms though. For example if you vehicle has a bad engine but you have taken care of the vehicle properly, they warranty should cover it. If you ruin your engine on the vehicle because you forgot to put new oil in it after draining the old oil, your warranty is not going to cover it.

Since buying a new vehicle is such a large purchase, you want to pay close attention to your warranty information. In most cases, you will never need it but you never know when that one bad vehicle out of the lot of them is going to fall into your hands so be prepared.

A hot selling point for many manufacturers is to offer consumers an extended warranty. While warranties are a very important part of making a major purchase on appliances, vehicles, and property. The concept of an extended warranty is to offer protection that covers a longer period of time. Any extended warranty is going to cost the consumer more money and that price is added in at the time of purchase.

It isn’t just large ticket items that are coming with the option of an extended warranty anymore. A few weeks ago I purchased a TV at Wal-Mart for a couple hundred dollars. I was offered an extended warranty on it for $30. I refused as the TV already comes with a full five year warranty. I have the same brand of TV in my living room and it has worked perfectly for the past 12 years so I think I am safe.

One large ticket item that you may serious want to consider purchasing an extended warranty on is a vehicle. The more miles that a vehicle gets on it, the higher chance you will have of eventually needing some kind of repairs. Vehicle repairs generally cost you quite a bit - my experience has always been that I can afford the parts but paying for the labor is ridiculous.

If you consider getting an extended warranty on a vehicle make sure you ready it completely. There will likely be some loopholes or items not covered that you need to be aware of. If you the extended warranty offers you a good deal then you should make the investment.

You do need to be careful about extended warranty scams as well, especially in relation to vehicles. You can get an extended warranty through the dealer who sells you the vehicle but you can also get it through an independent company. You need to do your research to make sure they are a reputable company.

Extended warranties are one of the newest ways companies make more money off of consumers. In many cases you really don’t need the added coverage and in others you do. It has to be based on a case by case basis. If you do choose an extended warranty plan just make sure you fully understand what the coverage is that you are purchasing.

Ford is one of the top selling vehicle manufacturing companies in the world, and they take pride in offering customers quality vehicles at an affordable price. When customers were asked in various surveys why they chose a Ford model over a comparative model by another manufacturer, many stated it was the amazing warranty with the vehicle that helped them make their choice.

Ford offers many different vehicle warranties for you to choose from on new vehicles, leases, and even used vehicles. This allows you to customize the warranty package that fits your needs. Simply select from the available options and you will get a price quote for only those features. Some of the features you can choose to include in your Ford Warranty package include rental car reimbursement, roadside assistance, the warranty can be transferred to someone else should you sell the vehicle during the warranty period, you can choose to cancel the warranty, and you can have access to certified repair shops.

You can also choose from set Ford warranty packages. The Premium Care package covers just about anything you can imagine. This is a good option for anyone who puts a great deal of miles on their vehicle and if they plan to keep the vehicle for many years. The Extra Care warranty helps with major technical issues that can very expensive to cover. The Base Care warranty covers the basic areas of the vehicle that could experience problems.

To help reduce the amount of a Ford warranty, customers can also decide if they want a deductible applied to the plan. A deductible is a set amount that the customer will pay each time warranty work needs to be done. The customer can choose from no deductible to $200. That amount won’t increase over the life of your Ford warranty even if labor costs and price of parts does increase.

Having a warranty on any vehicle you purchase whether it is new, used, or being leased, is very important. Most people enjoy not having to worry about the unexpected added expense of repairing their vehicle because they have an excellent warranty in place through Ford. Since Ford is known for providing quality products, most people feel confident that they will honor the warranty should it ever need to be used.

We have all heard the saying that a new vehicle loses value the second you drive it away from the dealership. Some people find a great price on various used vehicles that have been well cared for and they have low mileage. One of the scariest things about buying a used vehicle though is that it is often sold ‘as is’. That means if you get two blocks away and the engine blows you are on your own.

There are several ways you can avoid such issues. There are different websites out there where you can submit a VIN from a vehicle and get a full report about repairs and other issues relating to it. You can also get information on how many people have owned the vehicle.

Several states feature lemon laws that prevent a dealer or an individual from selling a vehicle to someone when they know that there is something wrong with the vehicle that they haven’t disclosed to the buyer. However, it can be hard to prove that the seller knew about the problem and it can be a long, drawn out process to get the situation resolved.

Many used car dealerships realize that the fear of buying an unreliable vehicle prevents many people from going forward with the sale. To remedy this situation some used car dealerships are offering warranties. This can help persuade a cautious consumer to make the purchase because there is a much lower risk involved.

The majority of used car warranties now offered cover a 36,000 mile or 36 month guarantee. Of course you can be assured that you are paying for that warranty as it is tacked onto the selling price even if that information isn’t disclosed. Make sure you read all the specifics of a used car warranty as it is generally not going to offer you all the same benefits as a new vehicle warranty.

It is very possible to get a great deal on a used vehicle, and finding one that offers a warranty is generally a good investment. You will be able to feel comfortable with your used car purchase knowing that you have some sort of a safety need should anything go wrong with it in the near future.

A warranty is a kind of guarantee that is given when you purchase a product or service from a given company. The reason behind a warranty is to give the consumer peace of mind that they are making a good investment. The higher priced the item is, the more consumers will be looking for a warranty to go along with it. Businesses that offer warranties to their customers will make more sales because of it and it shows the consumer that they stand behind what they are selling.

The Federal Trade Commission has established some guidelines that businesses have to comply with in regards to the warranties they offer. All the details of the warranty must be made available to any potential consumer before they commit to a purchase. It is up to the consumer to make sure they read all the details of the warranty so that they don’t have any unexpected surprises.

The warranty must specify when it will begin and when it will end. It also has to specify what circumstances will void the warranty. This generally includes not using the product or service as it was designated as well as making any altercations to it. The warranty will also tell you how they will resolve any warranty issues. This can be taking it to an authorized repair shop or sending it to the manufacture. In some cases they will simply send you replacement parts.

Make sure any type of warranty you are given is in writing and that you have a valid copy of it. It is a good idea to staple your proof of purchase to it. I keep a photo album in my file cabinet with the original receipt and the warranty information for various products on the pages. This way I always know where the information is located.

Don’t ever rely on an oral warranty to be honored or your will be very disappointed.

If you feel that your warranty information is valid but the company won’t honor it, you should write a complaint letter to the business clearly stating the situation, why you feel they should honor the warranty, and how you would like the situation to be resolved. If you don’t get the answers you are looking for then consider filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
