Bowling For Soup

Bowling For Soup is the unique name of a band formed in Wichita Falls, Texas. The band formed in 1994. It has taken some time for them to rise to the top of the pop scene. They were nominated for a Grammy for best pop performance by a group or duo in 2003. While they didn’t win the award, it definitely gave their music additional exposure and radio play time.

I had never heard of them until a song called ‘1985′. It is a song about a mom who loved going to concerts and being with guys from the band in the 80’s. I love the song because the 80’s are still my favorite type of music. As a matter of fact, several people told me that when they heard that song they thought of me. The band was influenced by the 80’s music themselves.

Today the band is everywhere. The internet is covered with pictures, posters, blogs, and their music for sale. Bowling For Soup has become a household name in the music industry. Their fans are mainly college age, but their range of songs is rallying more fans all the time in other age groups. The band members all have a great sense of humor. They love pulling pranks. That would explain their namesake. It is from a comedy routine of Steve Martin’s called Bowling For Shit.

The band is happy with their slow rise to success. They love selling out stadiums, but really enjoyed playing the smaller shows. It allowed them to interact more with the crowd. The band has thirteen albums under their belt. They sell very successful. They

have a new album titled The Great Burrito Extortion Case coming out November of 2007. They plan to tour extensively in 2008.

For Bowling With Soup fans, plan for the band to be around for along time to come. They are still enjoying making music and love interacting with the fans.
