Parenting is an instinctive process, but is often colored by the types of parenting styles that the father and mother have been exposed to themselves. The emotional baggage they bring into their marriage usually has a role to play in all their relationships. Despite this, most parents are keen on doing their best for their children, something every child instinctively recognizes. Hence whichever types of parenting styles, according to the book, that the child receives, the inherent bond of love is the strongest governing factor.

What Causes A False Positive Pregnancy Test?

When women suspect that they are pregnant, they usually get a home pregnancy test kit to determine if their suspicion is true or false. The process of home testing is usually to try and catch some of your urine, preferably the urine from when you just woke up, on the small plastic indicator. The indicator will then color up to show if you are pregnant or not.

Overprotective Parenting: A Word of Caution

Overprotective parenting seems to be on the rise, with parents getting increasingly involved in, and ambitious about their children’s activities. Overprotective parenting is often the result of parents forgetting their children are individuals in their own right. Very often, overprotective parenting is a result of parents viewing their kids as an extension of themselves. Everything they wished to achieve, academically or on the sports field, is thrust on their children. The poor kids are expected to shine as superstars instead of just enjoying what they do.

The Dangers Of Smoking During Pregnancy

To say that smoking during pregnancy is a dangerous proposition would be an understatement to say the least. In reality, the damage that can occur when the mother is smoking while there is a child in the womb is significant. The variety of problems that a child can face if the mother smokes during pregnancy is voluminous and can even lead to stillborn births. This, of course, begs the question if smoking during pregnancy causes so many problems, why do so many women continue to do so? The answer to this question is that many women today don’t smoke during pregnancy, but many still do. Mercifully, the numbers of people who have quit smoking have drastically increased over the last two decades. Part of the reason women smoked during pregnancy in pervious generations was due to smoking among the population as a whole was heavily addicted to nicotine. In 1964, it is estimated nearly one half the population was smoking.

Understanding Teenage Pregnancy Statistics

Statistics can be difficult to compile and it some instances they are conflicting and confusing. Teenage pregnancy statistics are somewhat difficult to examine because the sheer volume of information becomes difficult to compile and navigate through. In order to truly understand trends in teenage pregnancy rates, one must look at the data in its complete totality. In other words, in order to arrive at accurate assessments of teenage pregnancy statistics in the United States one must examine the statistics on a federal, local and state level as well as proper demographic information (specific ages of the mothers, financial status, education level, etc) must all be examined in order to truly get a clear picture of what type of information or statistical data is accurate.

Authoritarian Parenting Needs to be Tempered with Love

Authoritarian parenting was very common about a hundred years ago, when parents controlled their children completely, and held them on tight reins. Usually, parenting has two aspects to it: responsiveness, which includes parental nurturing and support, and demanding behavior, whereby the parent expects and demands high level of discipline and unquestioning obedience. In authoritarian parenting, the parent is highly demanding, but is not responsive. Expression of love or affection is limited or even absent.

Making Pregnancy Announcements

When a couple discovers that a pregnancy test proves positive, there will be a great deal of joy on the part of all as the forthcoming of a child is a truly joyous occasion. After all, the arrival of a baby, and the impending parenthood of those involved, literally changes the individual’s lives forever. They are about to become mom and dad and now must assume all the joys and responsibilities that come with their new titles. Of course, there is also an important function they must do as soon as they hear the good news. They will have to issue a series of pregnancy announcements to their friends and families. Of course, there will be a need to select a type of announcement out of the multitude of pregnancy announcements that can be made. Granted some announcements are better than others. Sending out pregnancy announcements via bulk emails would probably not be the best method of announcing the good news. This is why it is important to look at other pregnancy announcement options.

Facts About Pregnancy After A Miscarriage

To say a miscarriage is an incredibly painful and stressful situation to have to contend with would be a monumental understatement. When a mother must deal with the trauma of a miscarriage, there will not only be a number of physical issues to deal with; there will also be a host of psychological problems to contend with as well. As with any trauma, a miscarriage will leave emotional scarring that may not dissipate over time. As such, the emotional response to a miscarriage may lead to the individual having psychic hindrances that may impact future decisions on pregnancy. Sadly, for many, pregnancy after a miscarriage is not an option. For them, they would prefer not to run the risk of experiencing the same pain and aguish again. Pregnancy after a miscarriage is a serious decision and some opt out of future pregnancy plans. This is unfortunate because the ability to conceive a child and have a successful pregnancy after a miscarriage is quite common. An initial miscarriage does not have to be the end of future parental plans or options.

When it comes to purchasing clothes for pregnancy, there will be a wide range of prices from which to choose as maternity clothes can range from inexpensive to wildly expensive. When one is shopping for new clothes and is making a choice based on price and budget, the number of choices one has will be limited. After all, the person with $1,000 to spend is going to have much more choice than one who has $100 to spend. On second thought, a small budget can go a long, long way these days thanks to the ease of online shopping.
