The Radiant Halo 2 Trailer

The Halo 2 trailer is a glamorous display of gaming cinematics. It combines great graphics, as well as a very wonderful and time-effective plot. The entire trailer is narrated by a clever objectives list, which gives knowledge to an uneducated viewer. Though the beginning of the trailer is a little slow, its design and scheme is very intriguing. By the time the end of the trailer has been reached, the viewer finds the extreme need and desire to play the game and find out what happens. A superb example of an exceptionally graphic hook is found in the Halo 2 trailer.

Storyline

As the Halo 2 trailer commences, Master Chief can be seen walking through a gigantic ship. His immense amount of pride and arrogance seems to flow from his body. As the trailer continues, Master Chief proceeds to ride a lift down several levels. It is obvious that he is preparing to leave the ship.

Once Master Chief reaches a lower deck, he looks out one of the ship’s massive windows. He watches as the earth is ravaged by Covenant ships. As the serene Earth and the moon come into view, huge nuclear-scale explosions are seen spewing from the planet’s surface. It can be clearly seen that the Earth is under siege. Turning away from the window, Master Chief heads to the flight deck. However, no ships are there for him to enter. Fascinatingly, he braces himself against a wall and opens the bay doors. After hesitating for merely a moment, he turns the corner and hurls himself out of the ship. Freefalling, he quickly falls onto a Covenant ship, which is one of several orbiting around the planet. Quickly, the Halo 2 trailer ends, displaying the distinguished Halo logo.

Graphics

This radiant trailer for Halo 2 is, in itself, a superb example of Halo 2’s graphics. The trailer is in-game footage, which means that the shadows and reflections given off by Master Chief can be seen in every frame of game play. Master Chief’s visor has the appearance of real-time reflections, and the realistic look of his armor seems every bit more detailed than in Halo 1.

Not only, however, are shadows and reflections done very well in the Halo 2 trailer. The textures used in this trailer can not easily be outdone, providing detail with hardly a flaw. Even the lighting has a dramatic effect on the trailer. It provides a strong addition to the trailer, supplying a product very dynamic and striking to the eyes.
