If you don’t want something that size because of your limited amount of storage space, yet still want the security of destroying personal mail or other data you’d prefer not to share with others, maybe a hand-held paper shredder is for you.

Olympics

The Olympic Games first took place in 1896 in Athens, Greece. The Olympics took place to bring athletes together from all over the world in an effort to promote world peace. Today the Olympics still hold those standards. The goal is to educate youth through sports and teach friendship and sportsmanship. The Olympic Games include a variety of individual and team sports.

Prison

A prison, often referred to as a correctional facility, is a place where individuals are sent to serve out a sentence as a penalty for crimes they have been convicted of. Prisons are places of confinement where personal freedoms no longer exist. You have to conform to the rules of the prison system as well as the inside rules of that particular facility.

Summer Olympics

The next Summer Olympics will be held in Bejing in 2008. The summer games include a wide variety of games. Some of my favorites to watch are football, volleyball, and tennis. My favorite event is the triatholon. The competition has three parts that to participate in. They are swimming for one mile, cycling for twenty five miles, and finally running for six miles.

Parades

The idea of a parade began when four men decided a special event should be organized to precede the Indianapolis 500 car race. They only had two months to get everything in place. They were on a limited budget, and wanted the event to be family oriented. Today, the Indianapolis 500 parades ranks among the top three parades in the United States. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses are the only two parades with a higher ranking.

Rose Parade

The Tournament of Roses Parade, often referred to as the Rose parade, held each year in Pasadena California, is an event thousands of people anticipate all year long. Some people choose to pay for seats in the stands to watch the parade while others camp out all night to ensure they have a free place to watch it. This parade is the second highest ranked parade in the United States. It lags behind only the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. The parade is televised. It is estimated that at least 1 million people attend the parade each year, and several million people watch it on TV each year.
