This is because those Samuri warriors who used them were very proud of them role as protectors of the Japanese lands and people.

Those that are left are in museums or with family members who aren’t willing to sell them regardless of the offered price.
Collecting swords is more common than many of us might think. There are many swords worth millions of dollars due to their historical significance or their craftsmanship. There are trade shows set up for those who are interested in collecting swords. There are also numerous websites where one can purchase them.
If you can’t afford an original sword you are interested in, buying a replica may be a good alternative. In most cases they look very similar but they cost much less. Of course you wont’ have the bragging rights of owning an original collectors sword, but you can still proudly display your replica sword.
