Aromatherapy Candles
Aromatherapy candles are a great way to benefit from aromatherapy scents. Aromatherapy is the study of essential oils and how they relate to health and beauty topics. Basically, when the volatile oils of certain plants are extracted or distilled, they have certain medicinal properties. For example, rose essential oil has been known to be relaxing and calming and balance the hormones. While these things may sound far fetched to some people, there is a lot of evidence that supports that there is scientific evidence behind why some of this is true.
But since the oils are so concentrated, they need to be mixed with something so that we can benefit from the scents. You can blend them with vegetable oil, water, lotions, and even candles. There are two sides to the aromatherapy equation. The first is that the scent itself as an affect on people. The second is that the oil can be beneficial when applied topically. The skin absorbs it and it benefits things like your skin, muscles and the body as a whole.
By burning aromatherapy candles you appeal to the sense of smell. Certain smells create certain moods. For example, when most people smell chamomile they instantly feel relaxed. Other relaxing oils include lavender and rose. So if you want to relax, candles that have any of these scents in it will work well. Other oils, such as lemon or orange, have a quality that seems to make you feel awake and happy. And, scents like peppermint and rosemary are wonderfully energizing. If you are interested in trying some of these candles make sure you go with a company that uses pure essential oils.
When it comes to aromatherapy candles you can either buy them or make them yourself. If you are going to make them you may want to purchase a kit or a book to help you throw the process. In general you will need to melt the wax, add a wick, and stir in the essential oils. But that is an oversimplification. You will need to make sure you know what you are doing or else you’ll get hurt. You can also buy the aromatherapy candles from a reputable manufacturer. It is up to you.
