When psoriasis is on faces, it’s pretty obvious. There are red, angry patches that seem to be screaming in a temper tantrum on the skin. People get psoriasis on faces for a variety of reasons; from certain food allergies to a body chemical imbalance. This is why at the first signs of any psoriasis on any of your loved ones’ faces; take those faces to the doctor or dermatologist right away. If this happens to children or teenagers, the chances are very good that it will clear up completely by the time the kid is 25. Just what the kid wants to hear, right?

Eczema is a common yet unsightly skin condition that affects a lot of people but is especially prevalent in young children and infants. There is no cure and while there are measures that can be taken to appease the effects, some substances can trigger the problem. Finding an eczema soothing lotion that will not aggravate a case of eczema can be a nightmare because any product has the potential to cause eczema to become red and raw. This is best to be avoided, especially as the itching can cause sleepless nights and the sight of aggravated eczema can cause embarrassment and self consciousness. Soothing lotions, emollients and barrier creams can all help relieve the itching and calm down the redness that can appear. Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes red and silvery scaled patches to appear on the skin. They are known to be areas where the skin over produced and it is not dangerous. It is an often recurring condition that can leave sufferers feeling depressed. Psoriasis and low self esteem seems to go hand in hand for the majority of sufferers. Many are ashamed of their condition and go to great lengths to cover it up while others are scarred by the taunts of those who do not understand the condition. Although psoriasis is not contagious, many people old and young have the subconscious instinct to avoid contact with sufferers which can only further their self esteem issues and feelings of isolation.

Eczema is the term which commonly refers to irritable skin conditions that can cause rashes and even lacerations. Most children suffer from rashes during their infancy; diaper rash or a rash from too much dribbling and this can be easily cleared up. Eczema tends to cover more serious rashes that are exacerbated by scratching, allergies or even diet. Signs of eczema in children often include dry, itchy red patches or bumps on the surface of their skin usually beginning on the face. It can spread to other areas and become crusted and even ooze pus. Other signs of eczema in children can include scaly rashes in certain areas and itchy dry skin. The rashes may not be continuous to they are almost certain to reoccur. It can be hereditary but it can also be triggered by pet hair, harsh soaps, scented lotions, air conditioning, dust and even mold.

Eczema seems to be on the increase as more families use central heating, have pets and frequently use scented products and bubble bath. Dry skin is a problem but eczema is a worse case of skin problem that can become extremely irritating. Nummular eczematous dermatitis, also known as either nummular dermatitis or nummular eczema is not the same as the condition atopic eczema. Nummular eczema is a more stubborn rash that leaves patches that are shaped like coins on the skin. The lesions of nummular eczema, when they get older, can become clear in the center, or they can get scaly and look like psoriasis or ring worm. Nummular eczema is a chronic condition, and goes through periods of getting better or worse.
