About Health Care In Mexico
Most people in America have no idea about health care in other parts of the world. Many people will never use the services of a doctor or hospital outside of the states. If there was a poll taken about health care in Mexico, a lot of people would probably claim that Mexico’s health care is substandard. The health care in Mexico is often misunderstood. Mexico has a very good health care system in place and many of the doctors in Mexico were trained in the US. There are a lot of US doctors that now go to Mexico for additional training.
IMSS Insurance
Mexico’s health care can be used by people from other nations. In fact, they have national healthcare that foreigners can buy and it’s good for life a long as the yearly fees are always paid up. IMSS insurance is the national coverage plan. The cost of health care in Mexico is around two hundred fifty dollars per year under the IMSS coverage. This allows access to all of Mexico’s clinics and the doctors that staff them. It is recommended that people also have a private doctor so that the system runs better. If a person needs medical attention, they go to their private doctor who will make the appointment for the person to see a doctor that specializes in a particular ailment.
Health Care In Mexico And Pharmaceuticals
If the need arises for prescription drugs to be prescribed, expect to pay half of what it would cost in the states. Mexican pharmaceutical companies can manufacture the same meds at a much lower overhead than in the US or Canada. The consumer benefits from this action. Even if the person needing medical attention and medicines is an American, the cost is the same regardless of where the person lives. Many older Americans that live in the southern US close to the border make it a habit to get their medications in Mexico. Many of these older Americans wouldn’t be able to afford their medications without the Mexican prices. Health care in Mexico is superb in this aspect.
North Americans In Mexico
One other thing that appeals to many United States citizens is that they can move to Mexico, live at a higher level than they could do in the states, and still receive quality healthcare. When a person needs health care in Mexico, and wants to see a doctor, the doctor can come to the person’s home. That’s right; in Mexico the doctors still make house calls! Overall, while Mexico doesn’t have the booming economy that the US has, in many respects they have a better health care system with coverage for everyone. And that’s something to think about.
