China Trade
Have you ever purchased something and found a sticker on it that said ‘Made in China?’ It is very likely as they import many different things to the United States. However, there are many manufacturers in the United States who are not happy with this. They feel threatened by the items being exported by China. This is because they are in direct competition to what they are selling themselves. While you do have consumers who only want to buy items made in the United States, there are plenty out there happy to buy an import from China that offers the same quality but a much better price.
China is the second largest country that the United States gets imports from, behind only Mexico. There has been an increase in electronic imports from China to the United States in recent years. These electronic items include televisions, DVD players, video game consoles and games to play on them, computers, and cell phones.
Another reason that many people in the United States aren’t happy with the imports coming from China is that things don’t seem to be balanced. The latest figures indicate that China is sending $200 billion more over in products to the United States annually then they are accepting in return. However, the United States International Trade Administration believes that China is simply able to offer what the United States needs. Why pay more to get it from another country when we know they are sending quality items?
Yet many countries are taking the stand that this gives China too much power when it comes to the issue of International trade. There are also concerns about the unfair trade practices that China is known for. However, United States officials firmly hold to the conclusion that they carefully monitor the International trade with China and require them to follow all the set policies and procedures involved in doing so.
If you are interested in finding out about the various aspects of imports and exports between the United States and China, the internet is a good resource.
