Maids
Friday, November 30th, 2007Black women, entered into slavery, had no choice but to provide domestic services for others. They often were made to work in the fields and in the home. The days were long and hard for such women. In addition, many of these black women were sexually abused by their owners. It is important to remember that these maids did not receive any compensation for their work. They were brutally beaten if the work was not up to the owners requirements. They were often poorly feed, sleep in horrible conditions, and worked to the point of physical exhaustion.
