Maid Service
I often think my children and spouse see me as a 24 hour maid service. I am sure I am not the only person in my house that can see what needs to be cleaned up. Ironically, if I don’t do it or give instructions to someone else to do it, a particular mess can remain indefinitely. I have challenged this on many occasions by purposely avoiding cleaning up certain messes. Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked. The end result is I give in and get it done. I have been known to give particular cleaning chores to my children for misbehaving.
Maid services are in demand in our busy society. Most of us are so busy with work, social activities, school activities for our children, as well as their extracurricular activities, that we find ourselves completely overwhelmed with domestic chores. Housework is a very common area of marital disharmony. Often one partner feels he or she does more than their fair share of it. And then there is the issue that each partner has their own way of completing such tasks.
On the flip side, there are those individuals who want to do it all themselves. They don’t want other people to see the messes that occur in their home. They also feel guilty for working but not cleaning up after their family. I know one lady who actually cleans up her house when she knows the maid is coming!
There are numerous maid services all over the United States. Some have been in business for over 30 years. They offer a variety of services including basic cleaning on a regular basis and complete cleaning as needs. The complete cleaning can include cabinets, walls, windows, and ceilings, anything the consumer is willing to purchase. Such services aren’t cheap, but appear to be well worth the cost when you consider the quality of the work and the time involved in completing it.
A cheaper route is to consider hiring a private individual to clean up for you on a regular basis or as needed. It is important to do a background check on such individuals for your own protection. If you are lucky, you might be able to get a high school or college student to complete the task for a fair price. They often are looking for work because they want a little extra spending money. Plus, they always seem to have plenty of energy to burn!
