If you are going to start your own acupuncture practice, then you absolutely need acupuncture malpractice insurance. This is something you should be told about during your education, although it doesn’t hurt to mention it again. Let’s face it — we live in a litigious world. There are many people out there who will sue just because they think they can. If for some reason you were sued by a patient and did not have malpractice insurance, you could lose everything you own. This is not to say that you will be sued, or you will make a mistake, or you will be guilty of malpractice. However, it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
