It has become recognized as one of the most interesting areas of science. Neuroscience researchers study and analyze everything from genes to behaviors. Their research in this area has lead to the understanding of how the human brain works, determine how the nervous system operates, and find ways to prevent and cure neurological damage It is a field of science that integrates biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, psychology, and behavior with the areas of human emotions and cognitive functions.

This is a very specialized field that requires constant education to keep up on the newest techniques. Neurologists diagnose and manage patients who have problems with memory, attention spans language, and perception, changes in behaviors due to a head injury, and controlling diseases that affect the central nervous system.

Neuropsychology

Neuropsychology is the study of cognitive and behavioral symptoms that take place when people develop brain disorders. The relationship between the brain and behavior is affected. Neurologists then use technology to study the patterns of each area of the brain. This allows them to identify the source of the brain disorder. Once identified, they can then do further testing to come up with possible solutions to remedy the problem. The goal is to find out how to make the brain comprehend the psychological processes of the body.

Neurotransmitters

Natural chemicals in the brain that transmit messages from cell to cell are called neurotransmitters. They are responsible for the feelings, emotions, actions, and behaviors an individual exhibits. Neurotransmitters are also responsible for actions of a person such as the movement of muscles, waking up, memories, motor skills, and reflexes.
