Impersonators

Impersonators are individuals who pretend to be someone else. This is generally done either for fun as a hobby or for entertainment purposes where they get paid to do so. Impersonating celebrities has been a very profitable business for decades with the most popular icon to impersonate being Elvis.

You would be amazed to discover how much time and dedication goes into being a good impersonator. Sure, some individuals naturally resemble certain celebrities, but it takes talent and skill to learn to sing like them, act like them, walk the same way, and style your hair the same. Of course you have to be able to keep your own style along the way for while you aren’t impersonating.

Being an impersonator can be even more time consuming if the celebrity is still alive. This means you have to continually pay attention to what they are doing and how they look. There are some advantages because you will have some new material but there are also some disadvantages as well.

Impersonators can find themselves not being needed if the celebrity has a bad image. For example there are very few Michael Jackson impersonators who are still in demand after his bad publicity for possibly molesting young boys. Britney Spears impersonators have found the rock to be rocky right now after her antics involving her own children. Even Mel Gibson impersonators have found steady work hard to come by these days.

Anyone who is an impersonator either for fun or as a way to make a living can tell you that while it is hard work, it is also great fun. Most impersonators have no trouble finding steady work if they are good enough and if they represent a celebrity that is very popular. However, it is a trendy business so it is hard to find who will be in demand. Right now Angelina Jolie is the newest celebrity to have people rushing to impersonate.

Some celebrity icons in history though never seem to lose their appeal with the public, and that is good news to those who impersonate them. Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, and more will always be popular and those who impersonate them will always have fans waiting to see their shows or to hire them for various events.
