Airsoft is a sport similar to paintball where players take part in detailed military simulations, reenactments and games using realistically designed guns which shoot soft pellets. The difference between airsoft and paintball is that paintball guns are powered most often by a compressed tank of gas and are thought to be more accurate over longer distances. Plus, paintball guns shoot paint spheres while airsoft guns shoot pellets. How to Prevent Injury from Airsoft Gun Pellets

Airsoft is an exciting sport that many teens and adults enjoy. In the sport of airsoft, opposing teams take part in detailed military simulations. The game is very similar to that of paintball. The only real difference is that paintball uses paint filled capsules that burst on impact and airsoft uses plastic pellets. As you can imagine, plastic pellets can be quite painful when they hit the skin at high velocity. Depending on the range, an airsoft pellet can sting, bruise or even break the skin. While injury from airsoft gun pellets is not usually life threatening, it can be very serious especially if the injury is to the eye.
