Camping is a great way to spend quality time with your family and it gives you occasion to explore outdoor sites and places during the day while also being able to enjoy a quiet meal at night by a cozy campfire. There are many exciting places to visit and perhaps the best of these many places is America’s Best Campground which is located in Branson, Missouri and it is large enough to contain more than two hundred tent campsites as well as RV hookups.

This is a place ideally suited to get authentic camping experience while also being able to enjoy the best in comforts including satellite television as well as telephone and warm water. Here, there are also alternative arrangements such as cabins and also deluxe cabins those are available on rent.

Petit Jean State Park

Another great site for camping in the United States is at Petit Jean State Park that lies close to Little Rock, Arkansas which is ideally suited for a holiday having more than one hundred twenty campsites and more than thirty cabins. You can also try out swimming and picnic areas and there are also many wonderful trails for walking and even viewing the excellent waterfalls at Cedar falls.

For those who wish to go camping in the western parts of the United States, there is the Montana de Oro State Park situated in the south of California and this place actually means Mountain of Gold and it is a great place to visit. Here, you can escape the hustle and bustle of city life and come close to nature, and there are also many a hiking trail lined with flowers, and you also get excellent view of the sea lions and of course plenty of opportunity to camp out. These are among the more primitive sites to visit and so you need to be well stocked up when camping in these parts.

Also, in California is the Angel Island Park situated in close proximity to San Francisco Bay and this site can be reached by ferry boat where you get to see outstanding skylines and the quiet of the area certainly enhances the camping experience, and the view of the Golden Gate Bridge is splendid, if nothing else. However, campsites are limited though you can take to the trails and take a general tour of the island where you will also find bike rental shops and a few more retail outlets as well.

And, in the northern parts of the United States it would make great camping if you were to visit South Dakota and Fort Welikit Family Campground in particular. This is a place ideal for camping being close to Mount Rushmore and there are also numerous parks as well as caves, and plenty by way of recreation available close to the lakes and you can also take the time out to try out equestrian activities.

So, camping in the United States is fun, diverse as well as very appealing. Why not then head out to some of these fantastic locations and experience the joys of nature and take a break from city living?

If you are looking for parts or service for recreational vehicles or just for supplies for your camping excursions, look no further than Camping World, which is a company that operates out of Bowling Green, Kentucky. In fact this privately held company has more than seventy retail and service locations spread all across the United States, and if you wish, you can buy from them through their mail order system and even go online for the same.

A Store That Catered To The Needs Of Visitors Coming To Bowling Green

Camping World started doing business from the year 1966 and it all started with a tiny store located in Beech Bend Park just outside of Bowling Green that claimed to have the largest campground in the world. Whenever campers visited here they expressed a desire for a store from which to buy their supplies, and so the son of the owner of the park, a person named David Garvin opened a store using money taken on loan.

His enterprise and the huge customer list that he compiled helped the business of Camping World to grow, especially when he started to sell through mail order, and the company has never looked back since. However, in the late nineties the company got new owners though Garvin himself created a combination of Disney World, Camping World and Bass Pro Shops that would also have a huge Camping World store for the RV 250 servicing and much more impressive facilities for everything RV along with a free range campground having sites for dry camping and also camping museum, with plenty more as well.

In spite of new ownership, Camping World has still maintained its commitment for providing outdoor lovers the opportunity to buy the best gear and equipment ranging from family camping kits to cooking equipment and also chairs and lightweight gear for more adventurous camping activities.

There little doubts the fact that Camping World is the foremost supplier of RV products in the country, and with more than forty retail outlets has a formidable presence all across America. In fact, Camping World is largest supplier of RV accessories as also supplies in the world, stocking more than eight thousand SKUs. It sees millions of visitors coming to its retail locations and its award winning Web site also scores with millions of visitors each year. And, that is not all since Camping World also has more than twenty-five million mail-order catalogs and also flyers keeping customers happy and also informed.

So, if it is anything related to RVs that you want, and then there won’t be a better place to shop for it than Camping World.

Having the necessary camping gear and equipment is equally important for the first timer as it is for experienced campers. There will be times when the camping gear and supplies you need and are looking to buy are very expensive and even difficult to get. So, you should be able to get the best from your purchase by being knowledgeable and employing a few simple tricks to help you get more value for money.

Limited Budgets

Most people have limited budgets and thus the camping gear that they can afford will require planning for, which means doing research on things like the climatic conditions and the places you intend on visiting. Add to that the supplies required for your trip and the early bird, under such circumstances, should be able to spread the purchases over a time period and thus not overrun the budgetary estimates.

For the best in camping gear, you may need to visit many sites over the Internet where you will be able to get an idea about their costs and availability. Also, make sure that you include looking for food and water, cooking stuff as well as implements required for eating. There is also no point in skimping on essential items such as equipment for survival and also first aid equipment. It is luxury items that you can afford to miss out on, and visiting a number of different stores should allow you to get more competitive prices and maybe some good bargains as well.

Another option you may want to consider for your camping gear is to borrow from friends who have themselves camped at some time or another and who may have items that they can lend to you. This is a good way of curtailing your expenses though you must remember who gave you what and ensure that the camping gear you have borrowed is returned to the rightful owner after use.

If borrowing camping gear does not sit too well with you, there is always the option of checking out local resale outlets where you can buy used and also discounted items. There are those who may have bought camping gear only to return them for one reason or another. These items can then be had at discounted prices, and it is also a good way of finding dishes, grills, heaters and tents as well as sleeping bags at hugely discount prices.

No doubt, the first time camper will generally feel the pinch of buying camping gear and may often end up buying expensive stuff, though some forethought and good planning should see him get better priced goods. In any case, you need to be well organized and after research and comparisons should end up with camping gear at affordable prices.

Everyone that loves nature and enjoys the outdoors and who loves nothing better than to rest his or her head on the tent floor will surely consider buying camping tents as a very important part of outdoor adventure. So, it follows that you should make concerted effort in researching the available camping tents and also checks whether the camping tents you are interested in will be good for the type of camping area you are going to pitch the tent on.

Make A Few Checks

When choosing your camping tent, make sure to check what the temperatures are going to be like and whether there is danger from wildlife and what the recreational facilities available are. Camping tents are ideal also for those that do not fancy sleeping in sleeping bags beneath open skies.

Make sure that you check out the size of the camping tent, which should comfortably hold the required number of people who are going to be using it. And, if you choose large ones then make sure that they can be pitched in the areas where you are going camping. If you are going mountain climbing, a jagged mountain side would not be ideal for pitching your tent.

Another point you need to consider is where you are going camping and choose only the camping tent that is suitable for that kind of area. You would need a completely different type of tent if you are going to Alaska than if you were heading for the Mojave Desert. For an Alaskan camping excursion you would require camping tents that are very thick as well as durable, and which have enough strength to withstand the elements. On the other hand, camping tents used for places like the Mojave desert, though they must be strong should also not be very thick as you will feel suffocated inside the hot surroundings if there is not proper ventilation provided.

Another important consideration when choosing camping tents is the cost involved. You can buy a tent that only costs some few hundreds of dollars, while others can set you back a few thousand dollars and it really depends on the quality, size, strength as well as manufacturer. Buying the larger ones on credit is possible and as everyone who has bought camping tents will have realized, they are great to purchase and will allay your fears of wildlife and other unknown situations knowing that at least you have some cover from some of the dangers posed by living in the outdoors.

You won’t find any camper arguing with the fact that having the proper camping equipment is essential to a good camping trip, and one that, besides the enjoyment it provides, will also provide the camper with safety and also ensure incident free camping.

Camping Tents

Perhaps your first thought when selecting camping equipment would no doubt tend to be that a good camping tent is of utmost importance to a good camping excursion. In this you will be quite right and for better camping tents you would need to choose those made of good quality materials, and which will serve you well when the weather gets rough and out of hand. Seasoned campers would obviously gravitate towards buying high-end camping tents and will also prefer their tents to be light in weight so that they can easily be borne while backpacking, and which will provide good protection from both extremely hot and cold weather conditions. Of course, high-end camping tents will cost a lot more, but they will give you the protection that mid-range and cheaper tents will not provide.

Another item of camping equipment that you will want is the camping chair that will be most suitable when you wish to sit by the campfire and take in some pretty awesome sights and listen to the birds chirping away in the trees. You can choose between reclining, camping, lounging, folding and also high-back chairs. You need to select this item of camping equipment for its durability and also the one that has double stitching which would ensure that it is sturdy and will last for a long time. They should also be able to withstand rough use and rough weather as well.

You want to be able to get good and restful sleep at night, and so another camping equipment item you will need is the camping sleeping bag, which should not be bulky and should in fact is compact as well as light in weight. It should be long enough to accommodate your entire body and should provide room for movement as well. It should also be properly insulated and the material it is made from should keep heat loss to a minimum and thus ensure that you stay snug and warm as well.

Backpacks are another vital piece of camping equipment that a camper cannot do without and these should also be carefully chosen. You can choose from internal frames, external frames or frameless backpacks. If you are going to be camping for many days, you could opt for external or internal frame backpacks, while frameless backpacks are well suited for carrying light loads. If you are going to carry much weight, ensures that your backpack is comfortable and still able to handle higher weights. And, the backpacks ought to be water-resistant and have shoulder straps, hip belts as well as side pockets and even sleeves for hydration bladder, at the very least.

With these essential camping equipment items, you should be able to get maximum pleasure from your camping excursions with least amount of fuss or bother.

If you are tired of eating granola, oatmeal and nothing but these simple foods while out camping, finding some camping recipes to add more spice to your food is something you should consider seriously. Just because you are out camping does not mean you can’t eat from the full gamut of vegetables and even rustle a hot dog or two as also even cook up a delicious steak with baked potatoes. If you really get down to it, there is much variety available in camping food for you to be able to rustle up some mouth watering chow, if you just have the necessary camping recipes available.

Search The Internet

The first place you should look to find decent camping recipes would no doubt be the Internet. You can fund many online cookbooks and recipes that have been prepared by fellow campers, and so have already been tested for camping excursions. While you are researching camping recipes, make sure that you take into consideration planning for large groups, different days of the week, and even those that will come in handy on partial trips. Also, you need to consider whether you are going to prepare large or small meals, how you are going to store the ingredients and more.

You will also find many interesting soup recipes that are ideal for a camping trip and there are also those camping recipes that are so simple to cook that all you would need are a pot and pan, which means you can pack light. On the other hand, there are also camping recipes that make for mouth-watering gourmet meals though you must know how to grill and even adapt the recipe to your style of grill cooking. In any case, these camping recipes will give you opportunity to rustle up different gourmet dishes for every palate.

The Right Equipment

You also need to consider that the camping recipes you choose are those that can be cooked on your cooking equipment, though modern camping technology and also the latest cooking equipment are good enough for most camping recipes. In addition, there are some camping recipes that allow you to cook up the meals even before starting your camping trip, and which can be heated while you are out hiking, swimming and generally enjoying the outdoors.

It is also a good idea to prepare a meal at night, that can be eaten the following day and you will only need to heat up these meals rather than come back tired after a day out camping, and not have the energy to spend the better part of an hour cooking up a meal. And, the good news is that there are also many great camping recipes that can be prepared beforehand. So, thanks to the many camping recipes available, you have much to choose from and plenty to enjoy besides oatmeal and trail mix.

Camping trailers are available in many sizes and shapes, are affordable within many budgets, and they can serve a number of different needs. You can get a simple camping trailer that is a motorized home. The better ones are usually self-contained and even have waste water systems, have many appliances and also come with gas supply and more.

Every Comfort Of Home

You can choose camping trailers that come replete with every imaginable comfort. The most luxurious of these are thirty to forty feet in length and obviously cost quite a lot. There are even those that have slide outs, which are exterior walls that can slide out to the side in order to make for even more living space. Or, you may opt for one that is a van style of mobile home and only twenty feet long in which the accommodation is an add-on to the chassis of a van. These are also referred to as van conversion motor homes. These have space limitations though they are still useful for everyday living and are also very economically priced.

Another type of camping trailer is the smaller version of those thirty to forty feet long luxury trailers in which you will find a bunk over the cab though they do not lack in any amenities and are usually not more than thirty feet long and also are built on a big van chassis.

The other types of camping trailers you will find available in the market include those with a folding tent built on a trailer. These are space savers and very quickly and conveniently set up wherever you wish to stop for the night. There are also many different sizes available and they include those that just cater to having a bedroom to others that contain complete cabins in them. If you opt for a larger camping trailer, you may need to make install a towing bar to enable you to pull a fifth wheel trailer that is quite large and are designed for use with pick-ups of full size. These are wonderful substitutes to the normal trailer because the weight is not centered on your van, but in the towing vehicle.

Before you buy your camping trailer, make sure that you buy one that will serve your needs well and choose it carefully. Taking expert advice will only help you make a more informed choice. It is going to be a key purchase and so you need to exercise good judgment because it is going to be with you for many years.

Before you set out on a camping excursion, it is advisable to have on hand a camping checklist that will indicate which are the necessary items of equipment and gear you cannot do without, and which will suit both first-timers as well as experienced campers. You want to make your camping experience as enjoyable as possible and so making up camping checklist is a good way to ensure that you will not forget to take along all that is necessary.

Make Choices

Often times, campers may need to make choices regarding different items of equipment and gear, and so you will need to weigh the pros and cons of each item on your camping checklist and make informed decisions about the usefulness of each. You may need to choose between takings along a tent or opt instead to stay in a shelter. Shelters will let in the cold and so a tent may be more suitable as it offers more protection from the weather, and use of tarp is especially recommended to keep out rain.

You should also include in your camping checklist use of ground cloth such as tarps or plastic that can keep the moisture from affecting you while you sleep on the ground. Another most essential item you must tick off on your camping checklist is the sleeping bag. Be sure to choose one that is properly rated for weather conditions that you are going to encounter on your camping trip. Obviously, it won’t make any sense to take a sleeping bag meant for extremely cold weather when taking a summer camping trip and vice versa.

Also, your camping checklist must include a stove along with fuel, especially if you are not going to be cooking over a campfire. And, to light up the flames add matches and lighters. You will also certainly need enough food for the duration of your camping excursion. So, add food to the camping checklist and remember you will also need plenty of water for drinking as well as to maybe put out the campfire.

Next, on your camping checklist you must have the appropriate items of clothing including raincoats and a cold weather coat to protect against the weather. Add to that a hat and also have enough layers of clothing handy to combat all kinds of weather conditions. If you prefer to go hiking as well, you will need to add a backpack otherwise you may need a daypack for normal day outings. There are items that you will not want to leave off of your camping checklist which include knives and multi-tool saws and maybe even an axe, rope and compass while a map and first aid kit and a snakebite kit should find place on your camping checklist as well.

With these essential items on your camping checklist, you may find most of your basic needs properly provided for, though there is always place for other items that are trip specific and which you can take along, or omit as per your requirements.

One item is usually never absent from a campsite, and that is camping chairs. They come in all sizes and shapes and are made so one can be found to fit every camper in the party and with the prices for many of them so low, it is hard to justify using a log or a stump as camping chairs. Especially the new fold-up variety with nylon back and seat, they are lightweight and fairly comfortable for sitting around the fire or at the dinner table in the woods.

Some camping chairs are designed with the active camper in mind, made of nothing more than a seat with a single leg on a hinge. The seat folds up flat with the leg tucked under the bottom and sets up quickly, with a flip of the wrist. While they are not exceptionally comfortable they can supply a place to sit quickly as well as be taken down by the lake or river to sit on, keeping the rest of the body off the dirt.

Folding camping chairs

That merely fold in half are much more comfortable but also take up more room the car’s trunk or the bed of the pick-up truck. They may also have attached or removable cushions some padded and some just straps of plastic or nylon. Few will question the comfort level of their camping chairs as their main concern is having a place to sit that is not on the ground.

Different Size Chairs For Different Size People

For everyone in the camp there is a chair in which they can fit comfortably, from the smallest children with kid size camping chairs to larger adults with oversized chairs. Possibly the favorite type of camping chairs are those that fold into a small bag that are about six-inches square and under three-feet long. The bag usually has a strap with which it can be carried comfortably over the shoulder. They are also equipped with a handle to allow them to be carried like a small briefcase.

They come in a wide range of colors and designs and can be bought with the logo of your favorite sports team or even high school or college team. Many companies are buying camping chairs with the company logo to hand out to preferred customers as a means of advertising. While the customer uses it in the woods, other campers may also see the logo.

The Outlander is a butane fuel stove that is lightweight at ten ounces and fits nicely in a backpack. The Xpedition uses Coleman fuel and has two burners and works great at higher attitudes and in cold weather. The Instastart Butane camping stove is unique because of the design and has electronic ignition. It can simmer, cook and boil. Whether it is for camping, backyard cookouts or if you lose your ability to cook indoors, camping stoves are a necessity for everyone. You can boil water as well as cook anything you might need. The earlier stoves were big and bulky, technology has allowed manufacturers to make stoves that weigh less and are more compact.

Homemade Camping Stoves

There are also people who make their own stoves. The camping stove made with a soda can is one for the books. You simply cut the can down to a two-inch high bottom. After that, you make eight holes around the can. The stove is done, you just add the alcohol fuel and you have a burning stove that will even boil water. This is just one type of homemade stove; there are many different ways to make your own stove. If you are out in the wilderness, this is some useful information.
