Solitaire Card Games

Solitaire is a card game that you play alone, thus the namesake of the game. The game is played by shuffling the cards. You will then start seven lines of cards. In a straight line place seven cards side by side face down except for the first card in the line. Move to the remaining six lines and place another card face down except for the second place in line. Continue doing this until you have completed all of the lines in the same manner. The seventh row of cards should have a total of six face down and one face up.

The object of the game is to get all of the cards in order from the aces to the kings. You can move the cards that are face up only. You want to move then to other lines so you can get to the next card in the line and turn it face up.

You can only move the card to a line if the face card there is one number higher than the one you are moving. The colors have to alternate as well from black to red in the numbered sequence. If you end up with an empty line you can move a king face card to that location.

As you discover aces you will move them to the top of the seven lines of cards. As you get numbers in order that match the same suite you can move them to the top as well. The remaining cards that are in your hand will help you accomplish the task of getting all the cards in order in the right suite.

There are some variations of the game at this point. Some people turn over each card in the deck and try to put it into play on the board. Others turn over every third card and try to put it into play. Both are legitimate playing methods but the three card version is much harder to win at.

Solitaire is a game of skill and patience. It does take time to learn to play the game. Even the most skilled solitaire players sometimes discover they simply have no moves left to make and the game is over. Solitaire is also one of the most popular online card games that people participate in.
