50 cc is the fastest moped available. Anything with more power than that is classified as a motorcycle. A moped doesn’t require a special license to operate and there are less expenses associated with the licensing fees of the vehicle than with a motorcycle. Those individuals who don’t want to deal with a motorcycle operating license often opt for a 50 cc moped instead.

A moped is a type of motorized vehicle that is very similar to a motorcycle. There are some differences though including the fact that mopeds don’t go nearly as fast as a motorcycle and they are designed for in town use because of their low speed. The majority of mopeds don’t exceed 30 miles per hour.

Scooter Mopeds

A scooter moped is somewhat similar to a motorcycle because it has only two wheels and offers the same type of seating arrangement. Scooter mopeds are very lightweight and they don’t operate at speeds that are near what a motorcycle operates at. One of the major differences is that a scooter moped has a platform for the rider’s feet to rest on in the middle of the scooter rather than pegs for them on the outside of the motorcycle. Another difference is that scooters have panels that cover the mechanical side of things while on a motorcycle most of the parts are visible. Scooter mopeds operate on small tires that are very durable. You won’t likely need to replace them for years.
