The game of Sudoku involves a grid of rows and columns. The object of the game is to get the numbers 0 through 9 in a line across and a row down without repeating any of the numbers along the way. While the concept is easy, the game isn’t always as easy as it seems. There are different levels of Sudoku from easy to very difficult to keep you challenged as your skills improve over time.

It can be a great way to relax at home or to kill time while traveling or waiting at an airport terminal. The best part about playing Sudoku online is that the games are free. You can also easily change numbers if you have made any mistakes without having to continually erase your worksheet.

Sudoku Popularity

The game of Sudoku was introduced in 1979. It was played in various parts of the world and in 1984 it became very trendy in Japan. The rest of the world didn’t really know the game existed but in late 2004 the game suddenly started popping up everywhere and everyone was talking about it. By 2005, almost everyone had at least attempted to play the game of Sudoku and everyone had at least heard the term.

Magic Squares

A magic square is an intricate mathematical equation where all the numbers in a row and a column add up to the same sum. This sum is referred to as the magic constant. Most magic squares are displayed on a 3×3 grid, but some are much larger in size. The use of magic squares has been found throughout history including the Egyptians and Indian cultures. It is believed they were fascinated by magic squares because they believed they held divine powers that could help the individual live a long life free from disease.
