The descriptive describes the styles of how meanings are shaped in functional speech and writing. The prescriptive describes the pre-existing rules as to how meanings are created.

Grammar School is a name for a school of education in Britain. In Britain, grammar school is divided into four stages. The beginning of a child’s education is called ordinary school. Next is the compulsory stage of education. Then there are two more stages called selective schools.

Many online sites have a variety of grammar and spelling tools to help make sense of the rules that are often difficult for most of us to master. The help available varies from site to site. Some help with questions about grammar, about the usage of a word, composition, and spell check through out the documents. Many of the spell checkers underline words that are misspelled, words that are run together, and grammatically incorrect sentences.
