Blind Dates

Blind dates are something that people have mixed emotions about. On the one hand, they could be a great way to go out and meet people. On the other, it could be a stressful and disastrous experience. If you find yourself on a blind date, know that there are several different ways that it could go. It also depends on how you ‘got fixed up’ with the person. If a trusted friend arranged the date, your chances of success may be greater than if you met the person online yourself. But it all depends on the situation. Neither of those are a guarantee that you will have a good date.

With the popularity of internet dating, blind dates have gotten more common. However, with emails and phone calls, this could lessen the stress of the experience. If you are interested in meeting people, this could actually be a good approach. Online dating works by meeting people through what are known as ‘profiles’. You can then email each other, chat online, or talk on the phone. If the chemistry is good, you can arrange a date. But since you have never met the person before, it is considered a blind date.

It is also possible to have a blind date arranged by your friends and family. There are several reasons why people tend to get fixed up. But when it comes to well meaning friends and family, these dates could end up in near disaster. People who usually get fixed up are those who may actually need the help. This means that the date could either work out well, or not well at all. Everyone has different state. So if one friend assures you that your date is ‘handsome’ he could turn out to not be your type at all. That is the risk you need to take.

But some people really do find blind dates exciting. Sometimes, people are just looking to have fun. In this case, if the date does not work out, they would just consider it all part of the experience. This means that no matter what happens, they won’t consider it a disaster. Besides, there is an art to screening potential blind dates and those who do it often enough will eventually have a higher success rate.
