Laughter

Laughter is something that everyone knows how to do, but not everyone does it often. When people engage in laughter, it usually means that they find something funny or amusing. Things that can cause laughter include a joke, a situation, or just about anything else. Sometimes there is no reason for laughter, and just because people laugh does not mean that they think something is funny. But, laughter is good for the soul. It makes us feel happy. When we don’t laugh enough, our health could actually suffer.

Laughter is actually quite addicting. After a bad day, it is a good idea to try to find reasons to laugh. Watch stand-up comedy, sitcoms, or talk with someone who always puts your in a good mood. Sometimes connecting with friends and talking with them about your day could generate laughter. A good friend always has that way of helping you see your situation differently, make fun of the situation, or in general coach you through it. How many times have you spoken with a friend about something that was bothering you and then by the end of the conversation, you are both laughing? This is a common thing that can happen amongst good friends. When you laugh, it helps strengthen your bonds of friendship.

Studies have been done concerning laughter. People study things such as which chemicals in the body are released during laughter, what laughter can do for disease therapy and prevention, and other such things. The end result of most of these studies is that laughter is good for you. If you are worrying about whether or not laughter has health benefits, don’t let that stop you from engaging in laughter. It is a completely harmless activity and it puts us in a good mood. If anything, this mood can help us cope with bad days and situations that are somewhat troubling.

Happy people are able to look on the bright side. Happy people also laugh more. Is it the laughter that is making them happy or are they happy because they laugh? It is a difficult question to answer. Both could be correct. If you are unhappy and you make an effort to smile and engage in laughter, that could really help improve your situation.
