Earthworms
Thursday, November 8th, 2007Earthworms are an important element of the soil because they live in good topsoil and they help make the soil fertile. If you want nice soil or nice compost it is a good idea to put some worms in your soil. As they feed on elements of the soil, the excrement from that process is actually what makes the soil very rich. If you want to make sure that you are taking care of your lawn and grass you may want to see what kinds of critters there are that live the soil. Earthworms are a good thing. However there are some things, like Japanese beetles, that do not do the soil any justice. In fact, they can ruin the lawn and the soil. That is why people spend a lot of money trying to make their soil like nice and to get rid of bugs. However in the case of the earthworms this obsession does not make any sense.
