Fleece blankets are typically made of cotton but it is woven in such a way that makes the material extra plushy. Fleece blankets are not only practical and warm but you can find them in a variety of styles that can compliment any décor. Fleece blankets also come in a variety of sizes and styles and can be used while sitting on the couch, as baby blankets, or in bed.

Throw Blankets

Throw blankets are typically a smaller size than blankets that are designed to go on the bed as the main source of warmth at night. Although, they can be part of a good blanket scheme on the bed they will be too small to be the only blankets. Throw blankets are mainly designed to shield you from the cold when you have a slight chill when you are outside on a cool summer night or sitting on the couch watching television.

Baby Blankets

Baby blankets are one of those things that usually come as a gift when someone has a baby or is about to have a baby. People purchase or make baby blankets all the time to give as gifts. So how are baby blankets different from regular blankets? Well, they are smaller and a lot softer than most regular blankets. Some are designed to fit perfectly in the baby’s crib. Others are designed to wrap around the baby. Either, way, baby blankets are specifically designed for our little ones.

Electric Blankets

Although electric blankets can be a positive thing on a cold day, they can also be dangerous, especially older electric blankets. Older electric blankets are a fire hazard. And even though the newer electric blankets are safe, if those are used improperly, they can also be a fire hazard. It is best to use electric blankets at night when you are still awake but trying to relax. You can turn it off after you feel like you are falling asleep. Otherwise, leaving the blanket on all night can result in a fire which can be disastrous. Since you are the closest thing to the blanket, you can really be badly burned. But the newer electric blankets are a lot safer.

What would a cold day be without blankets? Blankets are a great way to keep warm when you are cold. Snuggling underneath blankets is a great antidote to a bad day, and can also help you get closer to the ones you love. But, blankets are so much more than that. They can also be a great decoration and also a wonderful way to express your creativity. There are several different ways you can make blankets from knitting and crocheting to sewing a quilt.
