Informal Wedding Dresses

A wedding dress should fit a bride’s personality. The wrong dress can certainly ruin a bride’s big day. For this reason, wedding dress designers create wedding dresses fit for a queen to dresses perfect for a courthouse wedding. Many brides who don’t want the huge wedding with all of the hoopla decide to have small weddings where everyone is dressed informally even the bride.

Some brides simply cannot see themselves in lace, beads, and yards of satin. They think the traditional wedding dress is simply not for them. They choose an informal look. They don’t even make the groom and his groomsmen wear ties and jackets. This look is perfect for a beach wedding where everyone can come dressed simply and without shoes. Now that’s a party.

Brides can find informal wedding dresses most anywhere even in non-bridal shop. If the bride wants a white dress, she can easily buy one during prom season or during the summer. If she doesn’t want white, she can shop in most any shop that sells evening wear or resort wear. If this sounds too informal, then going to a bridal shop is the way to go.

Most bridal shops do carry informal wedding dresses. If the bride is older and wants a suit rather than the traditional dress, a bridal shop may be the best bet. She might find something in the mother-of-the bride section. Hopefully, they won’t all scream ëI’m not the bride; I’m the mother-of-the-bride. There is a fine line. No bride wants to be thought of as motherly at her own wedding. A pretty cocktail suit or dress would be perfect.

For a courthouse wedding, many brides wear a Sunday dress, or the type dress most ladies used to wear on Sunday. If it’s a first wedding, a simple white sundress would be perfect. For a second wedding, off white or even pink would be lovely. Generally, pastels are best for a wedding if white is not worn.

An informal wedding dress need not be plain. A simple sheath with a little beading or embroidery would certainly make a simple dress more like a wedding dress. In some cases the informal bride might choose to wear a simple pants suit. Ouch. Well, some brides hate dresses and prefer pants. They would still be married even if the bride wore pants too. A lovely white pantsuit can certainly take the place of an informal wedding dress.

Brides should wear whatever makes them happy. If the wedding is informal, then the bride can wear an informal wedding dress if she wants. The day is hers and the choice is also. Remember all brides are beautiful on their wedding day.
