My search for cheap airline tickets began like most other internet searching adventures. I was full of hope and excitement, ready to embark on a several hours long excursion, if need be, to find out once and for all who had the best and cheapest airline tickets.
I’ve found that both the largest travel reservation websites as well as the somewhat lesser known websites all offer similar package deals such that you can almost always get a better deal on car rentals and hotel accommodations if you book reservations along with your airline tickets.
With the cost of fuel continuing to rise, all travel is affected. Most of the major United States airlines are still struggling to recover from lacking sales after the September 11th tragedies several years back and, naturally, these increased costs of operation are passed on to us, the consumer.
I searched throw possible flights and connections, then did the same at a few other of the hugest airline ticket websites on the net. And yes, the prices were nearly identical. Though the extra fees and some other minor flight details were different, the prices and itinerary were pretty much the same.
After using both the major travel agency websites and the lesser known variety, I’d have to say that I think the lesser known sites are the only way to save a decent amount of money. I mean if you’re really looking for an incredible deal then Orbitz isn’t the place to go.
Though it may take a little more work, it’s worth the extra hours of research, traversing through the lesser known travel websites in order to find the best possible deals on airfare and other travel accommodations.
