The color guard is usually present at ceremonies, especially official ceremonies where there are flags involved. With the government and the military, the color guard is an important part of whatever event is going on.

Color Guard Uniforms

There are several different kinds of color guards. One of the types out there is the color guard that marches with a marching band and performs during sporting events. This type of color guard requires special color guard uniforms. Even though the basic style of color guard uniforms is pretty much the same, the colors and patterns will vary depending on the school colors and what the color guard unit and the band all decide on. The color guard is often considered an extension of the band.

The history of the color guard is pretty interesting. There are many different aspects of the color guard. Marching bands can have a color guard. Ceremonies can have a color guard including those with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and there is also a color guard for the military. Each of these color guard situations has its own unique situation. In the marching bands the color guard is usually spinning brightly colored flags. In official ceremonies, however, the color guard’s sole purpose is to hold the United States flag and the other flags that may be relevant, such as the state flag or the flag of the organization. There is a lot of ceremony and protocol involved with the color guard. But how did it all begin?

Color Guard Flags

When it comes to the color guard, flags are an important part of them. The color guard is basically a procession of people whose sole purpose is to carry the flags during official ceremonies. In the Unites States, color guard flags include the United States Flag, the flags of any states or any other countries involved with the ceremony, and the flags of the organizations. Proper use of these flags is very essential to the color guard.

Military Ceremonies

Military ceremonies would not be complete without a color guard. There are several different kinds of military ceremonies out there. And for each of these ceremonies, a color guard in some form is required. The color guard with all of its accompanying flags is an important part of the military ceremonies because it serves as a reminder of our country and what we stand for as a country.
