International Conventions
International conventions are those that are hosted by a particular country but they are for people from all over the world to come and display their products or services. This is on a much larger scale that conventions that take place for those in that particular country only. International conventions are generally set up to provide information and education for individuals on important issues that affect everyone around the globe.
Some of the annual international conventions that take place include the Prevention of Air Pollution, The International Convention for Preventing the Taking of Hostages and Against Terrorism, and the Convention for Human Rights. Since it costs more money to travel internationally than domestically the convention has to be worthwhile for businesses and non profit organizations to send their representatives.
The average International convention lasts five days but it can be as few as three depending on the topic and the location. Some of the annual international conventions take place at the same location each year. Others are set up at a different location so a different country can host it each year. International conventions are a great way for Nations to show their alliance together on a global scale.
There are a handful of excellent international convention centers that are able to host the volumes of people that will be in attendance. In the United Kingdom the Manchester International Convention Centre located in Manchester is as a popular location. If you travel to Cairo, Egypt you will find the Sahara Expo to be one of the largest international convention facilities. It is host to the international agriculture show each year in August.
The Lions Club International Convention Center will open up in 2008. It is located in Bangkok, Thailand. This is the first convention center in that area and it already has plenty of conventions booked for the first half of 2008. In the United States one of the largest and most often used international convention centers is located in Orlando, Florida. It is very near main attractions as well including Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Orlando.
International conventions offer plenty of great information and learning opportunities for people around the world. They are focused on a specific type of industry or cause so that those interested in that area can offer their information, products, and services. It also allows different people from all over the world with similar interests to meet.
