NSA
The NSA or National Security Agency is a government agency for the United States that is basically in charge of protecting the United States from the perspective or protecting technological and information systems such as things that are involved with the internet and other information systems as well. Their roll is highly complex and not a lot of people understand it because it is relatively low profile. However, that does not mean that the NSA does not do anything. They have a very important roll especially when it comes to counter-terrorism.
To understand the NSA all you need to do is look online or read in a book to understand how it functions. However, the internet may provide more current information especially if you visit the NSA’s official website. Since it is directly tied to a lot of the modern technologies, resources you could read in the library or elsewhere will change. If you want to understand what they do you really need to understand what their interests are. They are also in charge of things like encryption and encoding.
Once you understand the NSA you can begin to understand what their true role is and how important they are to anti-terrorism activities. However, some people feel as if they cross the line at times. They are allowed to initiate wiretaps on peoples’ lines in the United States if they suspect them of terrorist activity. A lot of people think that this is an invasion of privacy and of free speech. But they are in a difficult situation because they need to protect the people in the United States and the last thing they want to do is violate people’s privacy and rights. But since they are truly concerned with the welfare of the people, the government, and the country as a whole most people seem to tolerate the things that they do.
Other than that, not a lot of people understand what they do. It is a mystery to them because there are rarely movies done with the NSA in the forefront and there are other things that people need to know to help them. The NSA is designed to help take care of the people and protect them from terrorists and they will do what they need to do.
