Due to the fact that a high percentage of both parents work outside of the home, the importance of quality daycare for children is essential. Often, that quality day care experience provides learning opportunities, participation in crafts that increases the dexterity skills of the child, recreational opportunities, proper nutritional snacks and meals and occasional outings. Of course, all of this is conducted in a safe environment and through the use of equipment that is safe.

Often these services are provided to their clients at no charge or are based on a fee in accordance with their level of income. Examples of some of these services provided by charities include the provision of clothing and food to the homeless, delivery of meals to the senior population, youth building programs, energy assistance, hospice care, etc.
