Avoiding Jury Duty
There are people out there who make it their goal in avoiding jury duty. The fact is, jury duty is a big disruption on people. Once you get summoned for it you are pretty much required to participate. This can put people in a touch situation because many have jobs that absolutely need to get done. If they are forced to not visit their job because of their jury duty, the first instinct may be to avoid it. However, if you are called to jury duty then you absolutely need to attend or else you could get in trouble. Some people really do enjoy having jury duty, however, so these are not the people you would find trying to avoid it.
People have a problem with jury duty for several reasons. The two most common are that they are forced away from their jobs and in addition to that, they are also not given any compensation for their time. No matter what your reason is, avoiding jury duty is something that is possible even though it could be frowned on. You just have to do it in such a way that you are doing it legally. For example, some places are fining people for not attending jury duty when they are supposed to. If this is a goal you need to figure out how to avoid it without getting into trouble. This means finding a legal way to go about it.
How jury duty works is that you show up at the courtroom. They likely summon more people than they actually need. This means that several people end up getting sent home. If you want to be amongst those who get sent home, you can find a way to answer the questions in a way that is not pleasing to the panel. They will select the jurors that will serve on the case based on the answers to the questions. If you do not answer how they want, you can go home. This is the best way to go about doing it.
If you want to go about avoiding jury duty, not showing up at all is not a good thing. You could get fined and the law enforcement may go and locate you. Instead, show up and make sure you do not dazzle them when answering the questions. Answer them in such a way that you will be asked to go home.
