Chinese Mythology

Chinese mythology contains a variety of stories that have been in the history and culture of China for centuries. They have been preserved and passed down to newer generations in the form of written text and oral stories told by the elders to the younger children of the culture. The earliest known Chinese mythology dates back to 1200 B.C. with many of those original stories still being told today.

Japanese Mythology

Japanese mythology is very fascinating but it is also considered to be one of the most complex of all the various mythologies to study. The stories in Japanese mythology include the religious beliefs of both the Buddhists and Shinto. Other stories are based on the folk culture that was passed down from centuries ago from one generation to the next. The entire structure of the Japanese Imperial family can be found in the Japanese mythology as well.

Mythology comes from the Greek retelling of stories in their culture. While Greek mythology is the most popular of them all, there are many different types of mythology out there including Roman, Chinese, and Japanese mythology. Regardless of the culture that the mythology comes from people find it timeless because the stories contain morals and lessons that can still be applied to situations in our lives today.

Roman Mythology

Roman mythology is probably the one the least people known about. However it does offer plenty of good stories as well as history that date back to the early times of the Romans. In many places you will find Greek and Roman mythology overlap a great deal. It is believed that the Romans were so impressed with Greek mythology that they took may of their stories and made them into their own by changing the names of the characters and implementing their own history into the stories.
