Tourism
Many people travel to different locations around the world to experience the culture there and to see the various attractions it has to offer. This is called tourism because those individuals aren’t there to stay but to enjoy what is offered. Tourism is a billon dollar industry so it is an area where you can always find some great deals. With so many different places to visit tourist attractions are always offering discounts and packages to entice you to spend your time in their location.
There are many aspects of tourism that take place behind the scenes. All the wheels have to be set in motion and turning in the same direction so that the tourist have a great time without any glitches. Tour guides are often offered in many locations to assist travelers. This is especially true if they travel to another country where they aren’t familiar with the language.
Tourists need places to stay, transportation, and food to eat. For a tourist attraction to be appealing there has to be a good way of getting there. Airports need to be close by for those who are traveling great distances. Taxi cabs and rental cars will likely need to be in place to help them get to their destinations. Hotels need to be available that are close to the various attractions they want to see. Plenty of restaurants with different foods need to be offered as well.
Some areas of the world have found that they their resources are limited as far as industry and agriculture are concerned. They have turned to tourism as a way of sustaining the economy. Hawaii is a common vacation destination because it offers tropical weather, beautiful oceans, and seven great islands to explore. Their main source of income is tourism and therefore they welcome each person who comes to the area with open arms. Hawaii has to import almost all of its food and the money to do so comes from the tourism they offer.
In Las Vegas, Nevada the hot desert area makes the land almost impossible to grow anything agriculturally. With the different casinos found on the strip and around the area though Las Vegas is a very popular tourist attraction. People come from all over the world to gamble, eat, explore the different casinos on the strip, and enjoy the nightlife. Without the tourist industry there Las Vegas would be a very poor region of the United States.
