Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Motorcycle camping gear is a must if you want to make the most of your bike. As you probably already know, traveling via motorcycle is an amazing experience. What can be even more amazing is to travel longer distances on your hog and camp out under the wide open sky. Motorcycle camping is a bit different than other types of camping. For one, you’re getting where you need to go via bike, not on foot or by car. One of the first things to know about this type of camping is pack only what you need.

Your motorcycle should have saddlebags, in which you can store some of your items. You will also need another bag such as a duffel bag. What you will need to bring with you will depend on where you are going and for how long. Different climates and terrains require different equipment. Camping alone in the wild will require more supplies for safety than you’ll need if you are heading to a crowded campground full of other people. There are some basics that you will want to pack no matter where you are going.

Baby Camping Gear for Your Little Camper

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

Camping with a baby in tow is a bit different from camping with adults only. Babies have special needs and those needs must be provided for no matter where you are. While it may be challenging to camp with an infant, it’s not impossible. The trick is making sure you pack the right baby camping gear. The first thing you should have is a safe enclosed area like camper or trailer. You’ll also need an appropriate place for the baby to sleep such as a portable crib or bassinet. A tent isn’t a good idea for a small baby, and shouldn’t be used until your child is quite a bit older and sleeping in an adult-style bed.

Save Money with Closeout Camping Gear

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Savvy bargain hunters can tell you that smart shopping can save you a great deal of money on most anything you want or need. Camping supplies are no exception. Closeout camping gear offers you a great way to get the items you need at a very attractive price. Some people think that closeout merchandise is defective or undesirable in some way. This is rarely the case. Most of the time, the merchandise is marked down because there are too many pieces in stock and the store must make room for new things. The time of the year has a lot to do with clearance sales, also. Camping season is defined as the period of time between approximately mid-spring to mid-fall. If you shop for gear during the winter, it’s likely to be offered at a reduced price.

Perhaps it should, as Swiss camping gear represents some of the most well-designed, useful and attractive types of outdoor equipment found anywhere. Of course, this is nowhere more evident than in the Swiss Army knife. This knife does it all. You get not only a folding knife but other implements as well, which may include a corkscrew, fingernail file, tweezers, scissors, pliers, screwdrivers and more. Exactly what comes on a Swiss Army knife depends on the style you purchase. There are models that are basic and ones that are extensive. There are even Swiss Army knives in feminine colors and smaller sizes to fit in a woman’s handbag or pocket, like the Swiss Army Swisscard in Translucent Pink which is technically not a knife but is loaded with handy implements.
