Turn Any Piece Of Land Into A Soccer Field
You’ve gathered all your friends and you want to start a soccer game but you don’t have any soccer fields nearby. Should you find another game to play? Absolutely not. You can play soccer on any patch of land, all you need is a few markers and a little imagination. The lines and professional looking goals you see on real soccer fields are good for real competitive games because referees need them to make accurate calls. However, when you get together with your friends, you don’t have a referee so you don’t need all of the elaborate lines and goals because it’s merely a fun, friendly game that’s not to be taken that seriously.
Makeshift Markers
To make a soccer field, find a patch of land and decide where you are going to place each goal. The goals can be marked by placing a couple of coffee cans where the edges of the goals would normally be. You can use anything, really, just make sure they are visible by everyone on the team so that there’s no confusion once play begins. Also, make sure that nobody trips on any of the markers, and if they do, make sure the edges of the markers aren’t sharp so that you can avoid any injuries. That’s all you need to correctly mark the field and the goals. Now all you need to do is pick teams and find a ball to play with.
Make Sure Everyone Agrees
When you are placing the markers on the soccer field, make sure everyone agrees with the location of each one. The goals should be evenly placed so that each team has a fair chance of scoring. However, you also want to make sure that the perimeters of the soccer field are clearly and fairly marked. When a foul is committed, where are you going to mark the free kick zone? These are also to be marked, though they shouldn’t be marked with coffee cans as the goals are. They should be marked with objects that are clearly seen but that won’t trip players of they’re run over. Once you have the soccer field marked, you’ll know you’ll be able to have a fun, fair game with your friends without much argument.
Finding a soccer field is easy, as any church yard or school yard will do. You can even play in your backyard if it’s big enough. Just make sure that you don’t play near any walls or other objects where injuries might result if they’re run into. If there is an argument over a marker, make sure everyone agrees before a call is made. Remember, it’s supposed to be a fun game with your friends, so don’t take it so seriously. It’s not as if you’re playing for the world title, after all. Just go out there and have fun on your very own, and personally made, soccer field.
