Surf Boards At Surf Ride

I used Dogpile.com to search for surf boards and found an awesome website called Surf Ride. Their main page directed me to make a choice between building my own skateboards and building my own wakeboards. I choose the surfing link at the top of the page.

The link that I visited was called the surf section and I chose the link to surf boards on the left. This website has a very nice user interface. The page I visited had choices of six different kinds of surf boards. The kinds of surf boards listed are collector boards, longboards, fish, shortboards, hybrids and softboads.

I was curious about the collector surf boards, so I visited that link first. The only board in that section of the Surf Ride store was for a piece of surf board art that cost $1675. This was the prettiest surf board I have ever seen. The website also offered a neat way to zoom into the picture of the board with a rollover of the mouse.

I wondered what fish surf boards were, so I visited that area on the Surf Ride website. It turns out that fish surf boards on the website cost between $430 and $815. The $815 surf board is called the Quad Fish. This is a surf board with a contemporary rocker and a slightly concave deck.

I had to visit the Wikipedia to find out what exactly fish style surf boards are. I found out that fish surf boards are radically short stubby boards that were created in the 1970’s and popular in small waves. They are primarily twin fin with a swallow tail shape. These surf boards enjoyed renewed popularity in early 2000’s. This trend which was kicked off by a legendary surfer named Tom Curren.

The Surf Ride website had five surf boards called hybrids listed for sale. The prices for these surf boards ranged from $355 to $675. The $355 surf board is the smallest board in the NSP line of surf boards. It is recommended as a great choice for a beginner.
