The Blackberry can help you organize your address book, it can let your surf the internet, send and receive files, take pictures, and talk on the phone all in one device. Pretty neat. Global Positioning System, or GPS, is the ability to track a location from anywhere in the world and then find a suitable way of getting to that location. When GPS was first introduced to the public it had the same origins as portable phones in that it was mounted into a car and that is where it would stay. With the introduction of the Personal Digital Assistant, or PDA, it became apparent that this GPS technology could become mobile and be offered to a wider array of customers. Many people regard the Treo phone to be a smart device that combines the color Palm OS PDA with a mobile phone of normal size and with such integration, users are able to dial directly from their bulky contact lists and also shoot photographs while even being able to send emails as well. Blackberry GPS is available in two versions which mean that you can either have your device have an internal GPS receiver, or you could choose to have an external Bluetooth GPS receiver that will in both instances provide you with GPS data on your Blackberry instrument. As of now, only the Blackberry 7520 and the 7100i have the capability of having integrated GPS receivers and if you have some other device you will be in need of Bluetooth GPS receivers, though if your device does not support Bluetooth you would not be able to have GPS on your Blackberry.
