Cell Phone Prepaid Minute Cards, for the Light User

It’s not uncommon anymore to see more than one person walking down the street talking on their cell phone, driving their car, or talking to someone while walking through the store as they shop. Cell phone users are everywhere. You will find that as many cell phones as there are there are just as many cell phone providers and cell phone plans to choose from. The question is, are you getting the best deal for your buck?

If you have a cell phone and don’t use it except for emergencies and an occasional phone call you may consider getting cell phone prepaid minute cards. This is also a great option if you’re not sure if you really want a cell phone but would like to give it a try or if you have teenagers that want a cell phone and you would like to limit their minutes.

There are many different cell phone companies that offer this service like Verizon, A T&T, Tracfone, Cingular, and other cell phone providers. Most of the services that sell prepaid minute cards require that you purchase a cell phone that is compatible with their service.

You can purchase cell phones by Motorola or Nokia with interchangeable face plates and other accessories from Tracfone, but you must use their service in order for the cell phone to work. Different companies have different cell phones with different features, so if you’re looking for a specific cell phone you may have to shop around a bit. The cell phones that were sold when prepaid minutes first came out used to come with only the bare essentials, but due to modern technology they now come equipped with many more features.

The great thing about using cell phone prepaid minute cards is that you need only purchase the minutes that you will be using and you are not obligated to any long term contract that they forced you into signing. Once you’ve used up your minutes, you have the option of either rolling over your minutes onto another card or using another service if you wish.

You need to remember that cell phone prepaid minute cards usually do have an expiration date. So if you have any unused minutes, you will want to roll them over by adding more minutes to your prepaid minute card before it expires, this way you won’t lose your minutes.

Some of the prepaid minute cards do have stipulations, so be sure to read the fine print to become familiar with the terms. There are some companies that have a monthly fee if you are not using your minutes. Also don’t be surprised if the price per minute fee is higher on the prepaid calling card. It may seem like a lot at first, but if you only need your cell phone once in a while, the price will be much cheaper than if you had to pay for a monthly service. Remember, it’s all in what you are looking for. Shop and compare.
