Coral Reefs
Friday, October 5th, 2007Coral reefs are living, underwater gardens that form the backbone of underwater life in some areas of the world. They are made of coral skeletons and even though they look stagnant, they are actually very much alive. This means that when you dive or snorkel underwater to take a look at these coral reefs, you need to be careful not to disturb anything. They are very slow at growing and at the rate that they are getting disturbed, they don’t grow back as quickly. This means that coral reefs are actually in danger of being depleted.
