Most of them were passed down from one generation to another orally and they included the rich history of the Greek culture. As a result much of what people know about Greece is actually fiction but believed to be true.

Mediterranean cuisine is the term most of us know Greek cuisine by. One of the main items used to cook Greek cuisine with is olive oil. It is used to cook meats and vegetables in. The main types of meat used in these dishes are chicken and rabbit. Fresh fish are commonly used as well. Vegetables are a common staple in a variety of dishes as well. They include tomato, eggplant, potato, green beans, and onions.

The history of Greek culture is very interesting and it accounts for many aspects of the area today. Religion has always played a vital role for the people Greece. They built amazing cathedrals and statues to worship them.

The gods were given the looks and the abilities of humans but they were also believed to have super human powers that made them above all others. They also had the gift of beauty that would never be taken away because they did not age.

They continually interacted with humans resulting in relationships and even offspring with humans. The stories of Greek mythology are full of historical information that is true of the times. Some of it isn’t though and those parts of the stories are often presumed to be true.

The Olympic Games take place every four years and they are watched by millions of people all over the world. The best athletes train for years to have their moment in the spotlight to shine with the gold medal. The Olympic Games were introduced by the Greeks in the 700’s BC. They loved to engage in physical competitions so they invited other people to come to Athens and participate in the events that took place every four years.
