One of the oldest forms of entertainment is clowns. In early times they were often invited to the palace of kings to entertain the guests. They were known as jester clowns. Clowns have a history in all types of cultures. The Chinese rulers were amazed by the tricks and antics of clowns in the early 1800’s.

Fear of Clowns

When you heard the word clown or see one, most of us think of fun and games. However, for many people the thought of talking about or seeing a clown is very frightening. It is also one many people don’t understand. After all, how can a clown hurt you? The fear of clowns can keep someone from attending a birthday party, parade, or other gathering. Of course, there are always a few dressed up as clowns for Halloween to deal with as well.

Rodeo Clowns

Rodeo clowns may appear to be funny with their outrages outfits, but many people don’t realize the level of responsibility they have. It takes a great deal of skill and courage to be the one to keep enraged bulls from attacking the riders. The rodeo clown has to distract the bull from the rider by getting its attention on him. This can be running at an angle or throwing a hat. They also go to the rescue of any cowboy hung up on a bull, putting their own life in danger.
