Magic Trick Cards Help Achieve Illusion Of Magic
Many people shudder when they hear the words pick a card, any card, as they know there is someone attempting to show off their magic skills with a lame card trick. However, like a bad accident, they may not want to look but they cannot turn away. Card tricks have been a staple in the world of magicians for centuries, at least since there have been cards, and magic trick cards have made some more intriguing than others.
Different types of magic trick cards are designed for use in different magic tricks. This can explain why few magicians will use the same deck of cards for more than one or two tricks. Some may have dimensional backings with the number and suit of the card hidden in the background that only the educated can make out. Others are blatantly obvious with two sided cards mixed in with a regular deck, which if held correctly will not be seen by the audience to have two faces.
With many magic trick cards used in performances there is still a need for the performer to have deft us of their hands and use patter to keep the audience’s attention away from the deck and hands during certain maneuvers. Most audience members will not be able to maintain constant concentration on the cards with someone talking constantly, or an attractive assistant wandering around the stage.
Card Tricks Performed Without Magic Cards
One of the most common thoughts among audience members, especially the younger one watching the performance of complicated card illusions is that the magician is using magic trick cards. They are usually more surprised that the cards come from a regular deck and not from a magic shop. While card tricks may be dull for some, younger audiences are intrigued and will spend several minutes trying to pry the secret out of the performer and many hours trying to figure it out on their own.
In order for the magician to perform the magic trick, cards may have to be set up in a certain order in advance and with some tricks they may guess correctly the cards were prepared ahead of time, and the magician can peak their curiosity by inviting them to figure out how.
Audiences of all ages always seem to be captured by the lure of illusion and even knowing it is all an illusion without real magic coming into play, many will sit through several performances hoping to capture the one move that reveals magic trick cards to be a fake.
