Dai Vernon is considered by some to be one of the best card trick masters of his time. He was known as the Professor and was famous for making card trick history as the Man Who Fooled Houdini. His life history as a card trick illusionist spanned a period of 90 years and included a love of card tricks that may have bordered on the fanatic. The popularity of cigarette magic tricks is on the rise and you will find many magicians incorporating them in their acts to good effect. There are different variations and magicians usually use whatever type of trick that they are comfortable with. One of the more common cigarette magic tricks is The Cigarette in the Hand in which a cigarette is shoved into the left fist with the lighted end first. Then the magician extinguishes the cigarette by squeezing the left fist with his right hand and upon opening the left fist he is able to show that there has not been any damage done to his hand.

It rarely fails when performing magic tricks that someone is going to ask for a card trick explanation to find out how a certain illusion was pulled off. Most magicians perform a feat of magic only once during any single performance, instead keeping the audience guessing. Repeating the same trick to the same audience risks having an astute viewer uncover the card trick explanation in one of the secret tricks.
