The jumping rubber band magic trick starts off with the magician, you, talking up the crowd and convincing them that they are about to see something fabulous, which they are. You then take a normal rubber band and really play it up by having a member of the audience test the band to make sure it is authentic. Then take the rubber band and pace it on the index and middle fingers of your left hand. The next step is turning your palm upward and pulling the band to prove that they really are on the two fingers.
The secret behind the trick takes place next when three things take place to complete the jumping rubber band magic trick. This is where that dexterity that was mentioned earlier comes in. The first of these things is that as you close all four fingers on your hand (this is right after you pull the rubber band to prove its placement) you slip all four fingers into the rubber band. The audience shouldn’t see this because it is done very quickly and you’re talking to them all the while.
You then allow the band to close on all four fingers while you turn the left hand over. From the front it still appears that only the first two fingers are inside the rubber band.
